the brief.

Archival is a sophisticated curation engine for cataloging personal collections—from fashion and decor to books and music records. It aims to transform the domestic space into a curated museum experience, allowing users to document the history and details of their most cherished items.

The application features a comprehensive gallery with advanced filtering and search capabilities, a collections module for grouping items thematically, and a unique blueprint page for spatially assigning decor items to specific rooms within a home. It also provides deep analytical insights, including the geographical distribution of a collection's origins and a breakdown of top design movements, artists, and authors.

To streamline the curation process, Archival integrates with the Discogs API for music metadata and Google Books for literary data. A dedicated chronology page allows users to navigate their collection across a temporal axis, while the minimalistic, magazine-inspired design reinforces the feel of a high-end physical catalog.
