the brief.

Fika is a web application designed for discovering cafes, built upon a curated list of places I've personally visited as well as suggestions from users. The platform includes robust filters, allowing users to find cafes by location, overall vibe, WiFi availability, parking ease, and more. Users can log places they have been to or want to visit, rate cafes, suggest new additions or edits to the existing cafe data, and upload photographs. Each cafe's location can also be viewed on an integrated map.

Initially created in conjunction with senior project team members Ahtziri Gutierrez, Giselle Eliasi, and Jillian Hunter for an LMU course in Fall 2025, the application has since evolved through my independent maintenance and continued technical improvements.

To give the application a distinct and personal feel, it features custom illustrations I created, and the heading typography utilizes my own handwriting.
